THE BASICS
Adrian supports and celebrates members of the LGBTQIA+ community, Black and Indigenous voices, and sustainability in the wedding industry.
Any recommended vendors do the same.
THE DETAILS
COMMUNITY
Adrian Steinbach Photography primarily exists and works on Wahpekute land and makes a monthly personal donation to Dakota Wicohan to support their effort to preserve the MN Dakota language. Read more about the four bands of the Dakota here.
Adrian makes a monthly personal donation to The Sandy Hook Promise to aid in the protection of youth and community members as a whole.
Whenever buying client gifts, specific wedding supplies, or other small items, Adrian actively seeks out local small businesses owned by BIPOC vendors.
Adrian does not book associate packages (except in extreme emergencies) and instead chooses to refer other photographers whenever she has reached capacity or is booked. The goal is to help support other small businesses within the wedding community.
SUSTAINABILITY
Adrian works toward sustainability in the wedding industry by purchasing gently used gear, reusing packaging materials, and printing on either hemp or recycled paper when possible.
While outdoors for elopements or sessions. Adrian abides by LNT principles out of respect for the land and future generations.
Adrian commits 1% of revenue toward carbon removal projects via Stripe’s program with Frontier Climate.
Due to the environmental impacts, Adrian Steinbach Photography is a ChatGPT-free business. All copy on this website, on social media, and in emails is written without the use of AI chatbots.
HONESTY
Adrian practices honest editing by following the “2 Week Rule.” This means that if something will be fixed within two weeks, it may be edited out (zits, extremely obvious flyaways, a light scratch or bruise, etc), but things that are part of you will not be changed (scars, birthmarks, freckles, wrinkles, etc).
Dark skin will not be lightened and light skin will not be darkened.
Proper care will be taken with posing and lighting in order to help you look and feel your best - especially if you have sensitivities regarding certain aspects - but your appearance will not be airbrushed or otherwise altered.
Though Adrian takes pride in her fun and creative portraiture, you should always still end up recognizing yourself in the image. The biggest goal is for you to look like you.
“But Adrian! Does all of this need to be mentioned on a business website?”
Maybe not! But you deserve to know who you’re working with and to have total transparency from your wedding vendors. Weddings are incredibly personal days, and I firmly believe that you should be able to trust the people you work with.
